Sgt. Andrew Leonard, Detective Lonell Jones, and Officers Nicholas Berardis and Chris Smith found Darryl Tyler, 49, of Atlantic City, at North Carolina and Atlantic avenues, police said.

Authorities said Tyler tried to flee but was quickly apprehended and found in possession of 34 heroin bags.

Police also arrested Clarice Dallas, 33, of Atlantic City, who was with Tyler and was found in possession of marijuana, according to police reports.

Further investigation by Andrews and Special Investigations Section detectives led to a search of Tyler’s home in the 1500 block of Magellan Avenue, where authorities found more than 6,000 heroin bags and cash believed to be from drug sales, police said.
