Al-Tariq Mitchell, 19, and Daquan Patton, 19, both of Trenton, have been charged with forcing two girls (ages 12 and 15) into prostitution.
Mitchell was charged in January with promoting prostitution, endangering the welfare of a child, and human trafficking of a 16 year-old girl. Thanks to NJ Bail Reform, Mitchell was released and FREE TO GO in January on a “promise” to check-in bi-weekly and have no contact with the 16 year-old girl.

2 men charged with forcing girls, ages 12 and 15, into prostitution
(reported by NJ.com – May 24 2017)
Two Trenton men are accused of forcing two girls, ages 12 and 15, into prostitution.
Al-Tariq Mitchell and Daquan Patton, both 19, each face two counts of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and human trafficking.
Mitchell was charged in January with giving a 16-year-old girl a cell phone to advertise for sex online and renting a motel room. A judge agreed to his release at a detention hearing, ordering him to check in bi-weekly with authorities and to not have any contact with the girl.
Police say the new charges stem from incidents that occurred in late March and mid-May.
On March 25, Mitchell and Patton befriended a 15-year-old girl, before later threatening her and forcing her to have sex with them, police said.
They then took nude photos of her to post on Backpage.com, set up dates with the men who responded to the online ads and pocketed all the money she was paid, police said.
She ended up in a hospital April 4, and police were notified and began investigating.
The pair are also accused of luring a 12-year-old girl through Facebook earlier this month. They hung out with her before becoming physically and mentally abusive to her and posting an ad on Backpage.com, offering her up for sex, police said.
Mitchell also forced her to have sex with him multiple times, police said.
Police began investigating after the girl’s family and friends learned she was being trafficked.
Mitchell and Patton were both arrested Tuesday and charged.
