(reported by NJ.com – Aug 15 2017)
A home health care aide is facing charges after police say she stole money from a patient after obtaining credit card using the patient’s information.
Elizabeth Perez, 43, of Randolph, was charged Aug. 4 with fraudulent use of a credit card, false statement in procuring a credit card, credit card theft, impersonation and theft of moveable property, borough police said in a news release.
Police received a report of fraud and identity theft on March 10 after the patient’s daughter discovered multiple unauthorized transactions while reviewing her father’s bank records and financial statements.
Following a lengthy investigation, Detective Michael Neilan determined Perez, the patient’s home health aide, was responsible the transactions and had illegally gotten a credit card using information belonging to the victim.
After her arrest, Perez was released pending a future appearance in Morris County Superior Court.
