Davon Nesmith, 19, of Lodi, was charged with having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl in the East Rutherford area.
Nesmith was was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child as a result of the incident.
Nesmith was released after his first appearance – FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform after the Arnold Foundation’s “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined that he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.

Lodi man charged with sexual assault

A 19-year-old Lodi resident was charged with sexual assault after having intercourse with a 14-year-old in East Rutherford, the Bergen County Prosecutor said Wednesday.
Devon Nesmith was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said in a news release.
The East Rutherford Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information on Sunday that the 14-year-old had sexual intercourse with Nesmith in East Rutherford, Grewal said.
