Matthew H. Cabrita, 26, of Bloomfield, was arrested after authorities discovered over 1/2 lb of cocaine, 14 lbs of marijuana, over $86,000 in cash, and other drug related paraphernalia in his car and apartment.
Along with the cocaine and marijuana, also seized were several hundred THC vapor pens and a vacuum sealer and bags. Cabrita was charged with a variety of offenses including money laundering, drug possession and distribution.
Cabrita was later released after his first appearance – FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform after the Arnold Foundation’s “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined that he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.

Wallington Stop Produces 14 Pounds Of Pot, Half-Pound Of Coke, $86,000 Cash

Authorities seized 14 pounds of pot, nearly a half-pound of cocaine and $86,028 in cash from an accused dealer after a Wallington traffic stop.
Matthew H. Cabrita, 26, of Bloomfield, was being watched when authorities stopped his car Wednesday and found the coke, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Friday.
They found the cash, along with the pot, several hundred THC vapor pens and a vacuum sealer and bags in his apartment, the prosecutor said.
The total value over the drugs, he said, was in the area of $100,000.
