Man accused of breaking into Jersey City church

Jersey City – A 50-year-old Jersey City man has been accused of breaking into a Greenville church last month.
Mack. M. Brinson, of New Heckman Drive, is charged with burglary and attempted theft in connection to the Feb. 5 break-in at St. Paul the Apostle Parish on Greenville Avenue, the criminal complaint says.
Brinson allegedly broke the glass pane of a church side door to get in and then broke the window of a door on the second floor in an attempt to steal church property, the complaint states, adding that a fingerprint was recovered.
No property was reported stolen from the church.
Brinson made his first appearance on the charges Friday in Criminal Justice Reform Court in Jersey City via video link from Hudson County jail in Kearny.
At the hearing, he was ordered released pending trial with conditions of supervision. The judge said Brinson has prior disorderly persons convictions, as well as indictable convictions.
