Gloucester County, NJ – Prosecutors Office “Fugitive of the Week” One of Many Bail Reform Failures

Gloucester County Prosecutors Office “Fugitive of the Week” a recipient of new bail reform measures…now a fugitive on the run.

The Gloucester County Prosecutors Office announced today on their Facebook page their “Fugitive of the Week”, Melissa Tirocke of 1408 S Black Horse Pike, Apt K, Williamstown, NJ.

Tirocke failed to appear in Gloucester County Superior Court on drug charges stemming from an arrest in Monroe Township on Jan 18, 2017.  Tirocke was charged with possession, possession with intent to distribute, drug paraphernalia, and possession of hypodermic needle’s.  Tirocke was arrested with 45 bags of heroin and crack cocaine. Tirocke was released one day later from the county jail on Jan 19 under the new bail reform guidelines.  A bench warrant was issued on Mar 2, 2017 due to her failure to appear.

  • ZERO Accountability
  • ZERO Supervision
  • ZERO Bail…just a “pinky promise” to return

On Jan 24, 2017, Tirocke was charged with prostitution after an arrest involving an undercover officer in Bellmawr Boro. She was released on a summons.  Tirocke also failed to appear in Bellmawr Boro on Feb 26, 2017 and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Tirocke has several prior arrests in 2015 and 2016 for various drug related offenses.

So who picks up the tab for the fugitive recovery cost?  You guessed it, you the taxpayer…the same taxpayer who is paying $500 million dollars for the bail reform system that released her on a “pinky promise.”
