Robert Blackwell, 28, is so concerned about the New Jersey criminal justice process that he brought 10 bags of heroin with him to Haworth Municipal Court where he was scheduled to answer charges on driving while suspended.
Despite Blackwell’s arrest for possession of heroin, he was released and FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform guidelines after the “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined that Blackwell should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.
Another “validated pretrial risk assessment” Failure.

Haworth PD: Scofflaw Brings Heroin, Straw To Traffic Court
(reported by Jerry DeMarco of the Daily Voice – June 6 2017)
A suspended Dumont driver came to Haworth Municipal Court to answer a traffic ticket with 10 bags of heroin and a straw in his sock, authorities said.
Officer Andrew Soltes was working court security Monday when he noticed the bulge and began to pat down Robert Blackwell, 28, Detective Sgt. Justin Fox told Daily Voice.
“At that point, [Blackwell] tried to turn and leave,” Fox said, “but Officer Soltes confronted him and asked what was in his sock.”
That’s when he pulled out the smack and the straw, he said.
Blackwell was processed and released without bail pending a hearing on drug possession charges.
