Eric W. Williams, 52, of Jersey City, was charged with making terroristic threats after he threatened to harm himself and shoot a doctor who would not subscribe methadone to him.
Williams was released and FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform guidelines after the “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined that he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.

Jersey City man threatens to shoot doctor at hospital, cops say
(reported by NJ.com July 20 2017)
A 52-year-old Jersey City man has been charged with threatening to arm himself and shoot a doctor because the doctor refused to prescribe methadone for him at Jersey City Medical Center-RWJBarnabas.
Eric W. Williams, who also has a Trenton address, was charged with making terroristic threats after the July 13 incident at the Downtown hospital while he was a patient there, the criminal complaint says, adding that he was not charged with weapons offense.
Methadone, an opioid medication, reduces withdrawal symptoms in people addicted to heroin or other narcotic drugs without causing the “high” associated with the drug addiction.
Williams made his first appearance on the charge on Tuesday in Criminal Justice Reform Court in Jersey City via video link from Hudson County jail in Kearny. At the hearing, he was ordered released with conditions of supervision pending his next court date.
