Man charged with sexual assault of 15-year-old girl – released under NJ Bail Reform
Pleasantville, NJ – Michael Rease, 28, has been charged with the sexual assault of a minor and endangering the welfare of a child – after an investigation was conducted when the victim went to the hospital at 3:00 am after the incident.
Rease allegedly was driving the 15-year-old girl in his car when he pulled over and parked his car, forced the girl in the backseat, and then assaulted her.
Rease was later released and FREE TO GO under the NJ Bail Reform Act after after the Arnold Foundation’s “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.
The release is yet another example of the thousands of unaccountable and FREE TO GO pretrial releases of those criminally charged under the NJ Bail Reform Act.
