Sicklerville, NJ – Man on NJ Bail Reform pretrial release arrested for second time this year for child pornography

Nicholas Cooey, 20, of Sicklerville, was arrested again for distribution of child pornography after getting his 1st bail reform participation trophy in February.

Cooey was on NJ Bail Reform Pretrial Release under the State’s recent Criminal Justice Reform law after having been charged in February with 2nd-degree Distribution of Child Pornography and 1st-degree Manufacturing of Child Pornography.

SICKLERVILLE MAN ARRESTED FOR SECOND TIME THIS YEAR FOR DISTRIBUTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY – JULY 19, 2017

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Winslow Police Chief George Smith reported a Sicklerville man has been arrested and charged Wednesday, July 19, 2017 with distribution of child pornography.

Nicholas Cooey, a 20-year-old Sicklerville resident, was on Pretrial Release under the State’s recent Criminal Justice Reform law after having been charged earlier this year with second degree Distribution of Child Pornography and first degree Manufacture of Child Pornography, when Detectives from the High Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU) of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office received information he was again distributing child pornography. As a result, this information lead a search warrant that was executed at his residence on Fletcher Boulevard in Sicklerville.

A preliminary review of electronic devices seized revealed evidence of the presence of distribution of child pornography.  Cooey has now been charged with an additional four (4) counts of second degree Distribution of Child Pornography and one (1) count of third degree Possession of Child Pornography.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office HTCU Detectives were assisted on this case by members of Homeland Security Investigations – Cherry Hill Division, the Winslow Police Department and Camden County Tactical Team.

Sicklerville resident in possession of child pornography, arrested

On Jan. 13, members of the Winslow Township Police Department, the Camden County Prosecutors Office, and the Camden County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at 18 Fletcher Boulevard, Sicklerville.

The search revealed 19-year-old Nicholas Cooey to be in possession of child pornography and possession with intent to distribute child pornography. As a result, Cooey was charged with one count of third degree endangering the welfare of child and one count of second degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Cooey was released in compliance with the revised New Jersey Criminal Justice Reform. His court hearing is pending.
